Course Overview

The student will acquire the skills in installation, testing & commissioning, and maintenance to ensure system safety, reliability and efficiency for renewable energy technologies, particularly, solar and wind power, which are the fastest growing sources of electricity besides geothermal and biomass systems. The requirements for certifying the distributed renewable energy systems will also be emphasized to ensure that the graduate is prepared for system installer certification which is require by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA).

Entry Requirements

1. Pass SPM/SVM (or equivalent) with at least 3 credits including Mathematics & Science/Technical.
2. Pass STPM/STAM (or equivalent) with principal in any subjects and pass in Mathematics, English, and one (1) Science/Technical/Vocational subject at SPM level.
3. Pass Vocational and Technical/Skills certificate (SKM 3) which is recognised or equivalent to a minimum CGPA of 2.00 with at least a Credit in one (1) subject at SPM level
4. APEL A : minimum 3 years working experience in a relevant field.
