The Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards has come a long way since it first began in 1998.
For the past two decades, this competition has received over 15,000 participants, discovered close to 50 extraordinary talents and given away The One Academy scholarships worth a total of RM15.6 million.
In conjunction with the ceremony’s 20th anniversary, The One Academy will be giving away four types of awards to honour outstanding artists:
- Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Creative Youth Awards
- Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards
- Art Educator Lifetime Achievement Award
- The Distinguished Art Educator Awards
The Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Creative Youth Awards was introduced in 2003 to honour creative experts and graduates of The One Academy who have achieved a significant milestone in the industry.
To recognise outstanding young artists at secondary school level, the Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards was introduced in 1998. For 2017, The One Academy is offering the opportunity for secondary school students across the country to win scholarships and prizes worth more than RM600,000 through this award plus an additional RM20,000 cash prize to its Gold winner.
The next two awards are new awards that are inaugurated as a dedication to secondary school and tertiary education art teachers. The Art Educator Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed to an art teacher who has dedicated their entire life to teaching their students. Meanwhile, the Distinguished Art Educator Awards is conferred to all teachers of the Top 10 winners and teacher of the Gold winner an additional RM1,000 cash prize. ???
“The reason why we run this awards ceremony is that as an artist ourselves, we understand how challenging it is to rise up and succeed in the creative industry. Therefore, we want to recognise these artists for their achievements. We want to give the opportunity to young talented artists to be groomed by our top-notch syllabus. This way, we hope our current students are inspired by these role models and that it would spur them to work hard to achieve their dreams. All these are really, in line with our Masters Train Masters coaching philosophy; we not only have industry leaders coming over to share their work experience with our students to complete the cycle of creating experts in the creative field, but also to give them inspiration through the Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards ceremonies,” said Tatsun Hoi, Founder and Principal of The One Academy.
